Seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Morningstar Dividend Yield Focus Index. The Index starts with stocks in Morningstar US Market Index, a broad market index representing 97% of U.S. equity market capitalization. REITs are not included in the index. The index then eliminates stocks that do not meet certain quality and fundamental measures: 1) Company quality is determined based on Morningstar Economic Moat and Uncertainty ratings, where companies are expected to earn above-average profits and sustain their dividend. Companies must have a moat rating of narrow or wide and an uncertainty rating that is not very high or extreme. 2) Companies are screened for financial health using Morningstar’s Distance to Default measure. A company must have a Morningstar Distance to Default score in the top 50% within its sector. From the remaining companies, the index selects the 75 companies with the highest dividend yield.
