Its investment objective is to provide its common shareholders with high current income consistent with the preservation of capital. In addition to investing in traditional preferred stock, the fund will invest in hybrid preferreds, which are subordinated long-term debt (notes) that are somewhat akin to preferred stock, and contingent capital securities.
